Role of Varying Degree of Inflammatory mast cell population in Salivary Gland Diseases

Objective: To determine the association between inflammatory mast cells and various diseases of salivary glands.
 Material Methods: An experimental lab based descriptive study was done at institute pathology diagnostic medicine, Khyber medical university, Peshawar. Non probability, convenient sampling comprising n=71was tissue biopsies gland were collected from April, 2022 to Sept. 2022. Gross examination, followed by processing routine Hematoxylin Eosin staining done. Giemsa stain visualize cell population, microscopically. Mast count invasive site tumor within underlying connective tissue/ lamina propria as well intra-tumoral stromal calculated recorded in peri- intra-tumor fields.
 Result: It found that out all 71 included cases 24% non-neoplastic 76% neoplastic lesions. The mean age affected patients is around 47.5 years while male female ratio 1.4:1. Mucocele most prevalent non lesion adenoid cystic carcinoma be commonly encountered malignancy. Cell almost same for peri-tumoral intra-lesional areas benign tumours. significantly high malignant tumours such mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
 Conclusion: may serve a potential cause varying degree response case
